belt problems please help me

my girlfriends 2003 jeep wrangler 2.4 keeps shredding serpentine belts ever sense she got it back from the gurarge. it slides on the tensioner pully out and rubbs on the tensioner itself and created a a line from where the belt hung over the pully. is there suppose to be a spacer or anything to pull the pully out a little bit to stop that from happening? please help me
