axle suggestions

I'm just wondering if d44's front and rear w/ alloy shafts would hold up to a Chevy 350, I'm in the process of saving up for new axles and i came across a Chevy 350 eventually i'm gonna rebuild it and put it in my tj, the reason i ask is, am i just wasting my money buying the 44's if when i put the 350 in. the axles wont hold up to it, I'm just wondering if anyone is running it now or have any suggestions thanks a lot

You should probably just build up a pair of 60's especially if your going to running 37's or greater. Given i do not have first hand knowledge I'm just going on what i have read on various forums.

I've run a pair of D44s with a SBC 350 and 35" TSLs.. That combo can live if you're reasonable with the right foot. Get it bound up in the rocks or hopping on a hill climb and you can break anything if you're not careful. If you have any doubts as to how hard you're gonna treat the axles, then go for the Dana 60s..

Remember though.. most FF rear 60s only use 30 spline shafts.. just like a D44.
