ax5 trans weak????

i no this has been stated forever. but i just ran across a website stating the ax5 not ax15 was also used in some DIESEL jeeps in the early eighties. would that mean the tranny would need to be fairly strong due to torque requirements??

Not really. Those diesel engines weren't really torque monsters. Maybe 120-140 ft/lbs?
