Another Tranny Question

This is kind of a Jeep question but I really didn't know where to post this.

I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota I believe it is a 3.9 L V6 4X4 automatic,
My question is the transmission is completely shot and i was wondering if anyone on here knew:
First of what transmission is in it from the factory, and
Second, will a Cherokee transmission swap in?or even a Wrangler tranny?

Thank You,
Much Appreciated

No, any Jeep trans will have the AMC bellhousing pattern, the Dodge 3.9L needs the Dodge LA/Magnum V6/V8 pattern bellhousing.

IF you had a manual trans in that truck, you could put an AX15 in there or an NV3550 no problem, you can swap bellhousings on those transmissions. All the autos have integral bellhousings except the AW4, but even then I don't think you can get an OEM Dodge bellhousing for an AW4. It's also more trouble than it's worth for something like that.
