For my xj I'm debating between a Dana 34
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1062525
Or an eb Dana 44 swap the axle is a 78 so it has the cast wedges. I like my 8.25 so I don't want to Change it. I really want hubs that's about it. I want to be able to also wheel my 34s no worries. And if I go bigger not to have to worry as well.
Dana 34 pros 1 keeps my axle as is no major modifications. Cons weak tubes and no gain in splines
Dana 44 pros bigger tubes better r&p strength. Better BJ's. matching gears
cons same u joints. I'd need to worry about limiting straps and bumps tops more than I already do. Fab work is needed. But it does seem like a good option!
Moot point ford radius arms

So I'd love a bit of input.

You want to put the 44F in place of the 30F or a 44R in place of the 8.25R ?

I built a waggy 44 for the mj recovery project I have. Live it.
Have a ruby 44 in my beast xj on 35's. Its good.
Got a 30 HP with the Volvo LS in it in another xj on 33's. Still not sure I like it.
I'm confused on a Dana 34?

A Dana 34 is dana 44 spindles on a Dana 30 running big Dana 44 brakes. It's a way to get hubs and better brakes.

I run a cut down Scout 2 Dana 44 front. bigger Ring and pinion and
30 spline axle shafts VS small R and P and 27 Spline.

Go get a Waggy 44 make sure you get the one that will go in a XJ-YJ

I am most likely going eb 44 front just modifying the radius arms and saying my motto **** it run it! It will be better than a lp waggy and it will work with my rear axle quite well!
