'98 2.5L wants to stall in Idle

I have a 1998 wrangler, 2.5L, manual. The jeep starts and idles fine. If I give it a little gas while in idle or put it in gear to drive it works fine. If I give it more than a little bit of gas while in Idle it will stall. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Try removing the battery and then reconnecting it... Then just let her idle for about 5 minutes. Sometimes the sensors get out of whack if you had a dead battery or other problems electrically.

Pull out the idle valve and clean it and the throttle body. Sometimes they get gummed up and cannot move fast enough to keep the Jeep from stalling at idle

Thanks for the responses. I did just recharge the battery so maybe that is it. I will try disconnecting it like Joeyc88 recommended first. If that doesn't work I will clean the idle valve and throttle body.
