96 Jeep Laredo

I just bought a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a replaced long block 4.0 straight 6 cylinder and when I crank it up, until it warms up, it loses power and skips kinda like if you stall out in a stick shift. Ive replace the plugs and wires, cap and rotor, the fuel pump, fuel filter and put BG 44k in my gas tank and Idk what to do. Any Ideas?

You have a part that has what is know as thermal failure, which means it works good untill it gets hot.

Most likely culprit is the CPS

It works good once it has warmed up but it feels like it skips and stalls about 30 seconds after I crank it up, only when I first crank it up. Once it gets warmed up its fine

Try this. Turn the key on, then off 2 or 3 times before going to Start and see if it fires up better.

Fuel pump check valve is bad. You can learn to live with it or replace the fuel pump.
