88 yj

4.2L in YJ. Starter won't engage in cold winter. Put gf blow dryer on the starter for 20min and then will start. Under 2000 rpm it don't idle it's all rough. Soon as you get 2000rpm runs fine. Any ideas?

Post it up on the YJ page we have a lot of cold weather folks there and you may get more responses.

I'd put money on it being the starter solenoid starting to die.

Instead of using a blow drier, bypass the solenoid and see if it turns over.

The start is champion and new and was put in sept. new to this site how do I ask question on the YJ section
