88 XJ Transmission Will Not Shift Itself

My 88 XJ automatic trans (AW-4) will only shift if it is manually shifted. I have read that the majority will point to the TPS (throttle position sensor) as the most likely culprit. I have installed a new quality TPS and it did not provide me with the solution to the problem. I would like to get opinions from you with experience on where I should focus my efforts next. Thanks!!!

Transmission control module. Under glove box. Look for fuses for the transmission first.

If not the module you may need to drop the pan and change the filter. If the filter is blocked you will not generate the pressure required for it to shift.
