8.8 vibration in yj

Recently got a 8.8 in my YJ. At about 40 and up I got a vibration in it that drives me nuts.My question is are there any fixes other than a slip yoke eliminator to fix this???

Are you sure you set the correct pinion?

An sye is not absolutly needed for an 8.8, makes it easier and all, but not absolutly.
I ran without an sye for months before I did the deed.

You, BTW will need to change the pinion angle for an sye install anyhow.

Check to see you are good on the pinion, that is where the vibes are from.

vibration

Never having messed with the 8.8 I had a local 4x4 place that has been around for awhile do it so I hope everything is right. After what you just told me it helped me make up my mind to go to driveline specialists and have them take a peek to tell me what I need to do to fix it .Thanks for info!

Oh yeah...
An 8.8 has an offset pinion. This will prevent a perfect pinion angle, but should not vibrate at a measly 45 mph.
Mine is set fairly correctly and will vibrate a bit at 70 mph and higher. But this could also be my front driveshaft that is not balanced and now, due to tj axles, spins all the time.(???) Not going to try to fix it, I just stay under 70.

Here is a diagram of how your pinion angle SHOULD be set with a stock yoke.
