78-79 Ford axles axle nut

I'm looking for the socket to remove the axle nuts on a d60 and d44 out of a Ford F-250. I went to Napa and Advance and neither places can tell me for sure what I need, Napa had something that might work on the d60 but the damn thing cost over $40.
I also tried Google but couldn't find anything. Could someone please give me a tool# and where to get it.

they couldnt tell you for sure cause its a 30 year old axle and who knows whats changed in there since. its either the 4 prong or the 6. i believe that 6 was the older style. look up spindle nut socket on google and lots of hits will come up. easiest way to know for sure is to pull a hub and take a look.

weekend are best for me, as far as the machine work not sure of any local places but i will ask around. do you need them machined flat or just drilled and tapped, i can maybe help if they just need to drilled and tapped. i have a milling machine at the house that i drilled and tapped a set a few years ago but i dant have any tooling to get them flat. anyways i will call you and talk, jason.

The knuckle is fairly flat but I was under the impression it had to be machined perfectly flat.
