72 Jeep Commando Doesnt Go ANYWHERE!

Im just not sure where to start with this. I have an AMC 304 with the TH400 and a Dana 20 Tcase. The only driveshaft in is the front at the moment, because I still have to swap the rear axle from the toyota nightmare thats under it to a jeep axle. I can put the car in park and the driveshaft locks in place when trying to turn it by hand, and in neutral I can spin it freely by hand. When I put it in drive and give it gas it does nothing. On the passenger side is my gear stick that goes to the tcase I believe, and that feels like it doesnt lock into a gear. I can just wiggle it and throw it around with no actual gear placement like its stuck in N. Just for fun, I hooked the jeep up to my truck and towed it about 40 feet to see if that loosened something up, because I have no idea when the last time it ran under its own power was, but supposedly it worked fine. Still no luck. Whats the easiest place to start?
