5.2 318 proformance

Alright guys, I have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado. With A 5.2. and I am Looking for more Horse Power. I have An K&N Cold Air Intake. Jet Performance Super Chip. 26lb Accel injectors. Accel plugs and wires cap and rotor. I guess im asking if there are different heads, cams i can install myself. What kind and where i can get them. if u guys could help post pictures. point me in the right direction that would help. Thanks Pitbull330

Besides as total engine overhaul, sounds like all you can do is exhaust/weight reduction. Make sure your injectors match the amount of air flow your putting through the engine or else you'll just be wasting fuel/getting less performance.

Forgot already did the exhaust. NASCAR style comes out before the rear tire. I want to do an overhaul. Injectors match with the air flow also. I am an auto technician by trade. Just don't know much about engine performance.

Alright cool well at least you'll be knowing how to do everything, I'm not a 5.2 guy so someone else will hopefully chime in

I wonder of anyone knows if I can swap out my heads with the 5.2 magnum heads. Would I need a new timing chain and gears. Or is that only when I replace the camshaft.

When I had my 88 ramcharger, it had the 318. One of my favorite engines. I blew the heads somehow and my father got me some 360 heads for cheap. It gave me a bit more low end growl and more balls at low rpm... With that said, gas mileage was crap and higher rpm were non existent.
