4l60 or 4l80 in a yj

I have a 90 yj with a 87 chevy tbi 350. Currently running an AX15 and 231j that is about 41'' long with a stock 6cyl drive shaft. Have a 3'' body lift and 4'' spring lift with factory axles for now. I plan on changing axles later, probably go with dana 44s. I am going to an auto trans soon, either 4l60 or 4l80. My question, is anyone running a 4l80 in a yj. If so how short is your rear drive shaft? If i run a dana 300 behind the 4l80 will i end up up with a decent length driveshaft and driveline angle. I would rather have the 80 but if its gonna eat u-joints Ill go with the 60. I cant seem to find where anyone has done a writeup on a 80 swap that posted how it turned out. If anyone has a link to a build please share. Thanks for any and all help.

For your setup, a K case 700R4 or 4L60E is more than enough. Maybe why not many have bothered with the 4L80E?
You can then get a 231C HD transfer case and it will bolt right up to a 4wd 700R4/4L60E.

Ok thanks. What years for the K case 4l60. Ill be getting one soon. The local pick and pull has a sale going now. All transmissions $80 and all t-cases $30

Hell, maybe 1990 and later?
There will be a massive letter K stamped in the side of it, cant miss it.
The 231C HD will have exactly that on the round tag on the back of it.
