4 liter engine knock when wet

Please help,

I have a stock 1999 cherekee sport, auto, 4x4, 85000 well cared for miles. I noticed a knock in the engine after I went thru a car wash. I made sure that the oil pressure and level were good. I reviewed the fan should to be sure was not vibrating, and made sure the splash sheild was not falling off. Out of frustration I went from o to 60 as hard as possible, and then a short ride on the high way. It seemed to go away.
Is there a rod issue or something bizzare I should look for, or is there an electrical device that may have got wet that may be causing this?
Thanks

Possibly a miss fire when it is wet?
Try to get it wet again, leave the hood open and look for any arcing in the HT leads/plug caps.

Just came back in. Wires look good, Cleaned rotor. I also removed inspection cover and tightened the torque converter. All though it really did not seem loose. I also filled with premium and put some cleaner in the tank. This really surprices me, as the car has low miles and was well cared for.
I will look again tomarrow as I had enough fun for one day

engine knock

Finally found the problem and the fix. Much different than everything previously posted. Found by Disconnecting injectors one at a time and determined the knock stopped with number 6 cylinder injector disconnected. Pulled oil pan and rod cap to number six. Bearing was damaged, replaced and back to new. $20.00 and four hours.

did you have someone polish the crankshaft bearing journals? if not you could be dealing with this same thing all over again soon. and worse.
