i was assured by Hesco that the 4.7L setup im planning will make a minimum of 280 horsepower. every part that will be replaced will be new. the 12CW is 35 lbs heavier than the 4CW it shouldnt effect horsepower, but it will seriously effect torque and the stall speed. having 35 additional pounds of rotating mass is big torque, especially if i up my compression ratio.

this is not a low buck build, im pulling out all the stops on this. the engine gets the best of the best

no, none. im trying to get a job here in lexington as hard as i can. i refuse to be a waiter from previous poor experiences so right now im living off side jobs. no one is hiring - not even big places like lowes or bestbuy.

so, im a bit short on monies at the moment. hopefully things will pick back up again come summer time. i need about $2000-$2300 to buy additional parts, maybe less if i can re-use some factory components. the most expensive part is the custom forged pistons nearly $800...

I was looking into strokers and was wondering, in a 00+ TJ(distributorless), are the blocks physically different and necessitate a 00+ block, or could you get say a 98 block and just block off the distributor hole(or even just put a distributor in there and attached to nothing if you're really cheap)?

I think all they did was stick a sensor in the old distributor hole. I'd assume the block wasn't changed.

Any more progress on your project? You mention custom forged pistons--are you using 4.0 rods? That seems to be the hot setup, since the new Keith Black pistons are not much less and still don't give the desired CR and quence. BTW, I'm sure you're familiar with www.jeepstrokers.com.

Engine: 4.0 HO, Sealed canister filter, 3 core CSF steel radiator, CatCo cat, Dynomax Turbo Flow muffler.
Electronics: Remote start/locks, Pioneer DEH-P7800MP w/XM, Polk Audio speakers, Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS, Cobra 148 GTL P&T w/Wilson 1000.
Suspension: Old Man Emu 3" lift+OME AAL, JKS adjustable trackbar, QDs, LCAs UCAs, A.C.O.S., DPG Offroad adjustable bumpstop plate, Daystar poly bumpstops.
Steering: Currie HD steering, C-ROK steering box reinforcement, OME stabilizer.

ive visted the website but i havnt really moved into the stage of the build to where i need their help

as far as the custom pistons go they're required with the .060 overbore. i'll be using my original 4.0 rods to save on cost, and they're basically new for the life of the motor. i havent decided what brand pistons i want to use but i do know that i like Hesco and Federal Mogul

im looking into a certain piston design right now that could supposedly push me to 4.8L
