4.2 Timing Cover Question

When I removed my timing cover I saw that the chain was wearing away at the cover, I know this is common from the chain wearing/stretching.

My cover:

My question is do I need to replace the cover, what has worn away? I've seen replacement covers but they don't show a wear pad or anything?

Should I replace it or reuse the old one?

Thanks, Steve
