4.11 and 4.10 Gears?

I am interested in a 95 YJ on 33 inch tires. I asked the owner if it has been re-geared. He said that it has a combo of 4.11 and 4.10 gears. He doesn't remember which one is installed where. He said that this gear combination is optimum. I have never heard of mixing the gears. Is he blowing smoke up my arse?

Here is the CL Ad.
1995 jeep wrangler 4x4 with 3in lift and 33in bfg all-terrains (1/2 tread) mounted on 15 in black rock crawling wheels (full size spare). it is an straight 6, 5 speed. it has a new soft (black) best-top supertop (8 months old). it has a new windshield and "rod rack" (not pictured) and 2 off road running lights. it also has new headlights (very high quality). it ranges from 14-16mpg depending on how you drive. this is an amazing jeep and i hate to get rid of it. im asking 5800, no lowballers please. this jeep has been very well maintained by a mechanic of 25 years. everything is done right.

4.10 & 4.11 is a very normal combination. The 0.01 difference makes no fuctional difference. It's normal for front & rear ratios to be off 0.01 due to machining, space vs size, and other issues.

It is an old school trick to get a touch more steering out of the front axle by going a point taller up front. I've run this combo for years, but to be honest I found the advantage negligible.
