4.0 Valve Cover Gasket

Anyone know of a source for a good valve cover gasket for a 4.0? (Non-Cork)

Local autozone/advance wants like $50 for the rubber one.. But surely somewhere has it cheaper.

Thanks..

My local parts stores wanted $55+ for rubber.
So I got the $6.XX felpro (cork/rubber).

Yeah they have one for $7 which is a cork/nitrile. I just put a cork one on a few months ago and its leaking already.

They have to order it, so i guess ill try that - cant see paying $50+ for the rubber one

Get the cork/rubber and be sure the mating surfaces are totally clean (brake cleaner).

Out of the darkness comes light.

The way I got my valve cover to seal up is to use ultra grey gasket maker (permatex). Lay a bead on and let it tack up, then put the cover on and no more leaks. Cost about 3 bucks to use.

Then, in the future , if it leaks again, you can do it again without a trip to the parts store for a crappy cork gasket.

I wasn't going to say it, but I did the same exact thing... I use no gasket either... I had the Felpro one on, but pulled it off and just used Permatex.
