258 valve cover on 4.0 head ??????

I just saw on ebay some guy claiming a 258 and 4.0 valve cover are interchangeable..... Anyone know if this is true ? Doing the 4.0 head swap thing and this would save me a little $ and time.....

It won't work without modification. If you want to see why just compare the gaskets.

Just use the stock cast 4.0 valve cover when you switch to the 4.0 head... they are cheap and widely available in scrap yards (I got one free with a head, I just asked the guy at the counter and he threw it in for nothing).

Enjoy!
