2014 latitude transmission problems

I purchased a new 2014 Cherokee latitude about a month ago and it's been in the shop for a week and a half for a new transmission. Anyone else have to go through this? My dealer has been more than helpful, but Chrysler/Jeep don't seem to give a damn.

What gives you that impression? Have you spoken with anyone at Chrysler/Jeep?

Jeep Cherokee Latitude Transmission Issues

I have the same problem many are having with the new 2014 9 speed.
Mine holds gears way too long and when it does shift is anything but smooth. Since it is a 9 speed, I assume it should shift eventually to 9? Even at 75, mine stays in 8.
I am taking the car in tomorrow. It has 6000 miles on it.

talk with Jeep, we cant do anything when its under warranty.

this is why I buy CVT ;)

My "former" Cherokee Latitude problems are solved at dealer level. They ran a software change and it is now running well. Will continue to monitor.

you have to to get 85 for the flux capacitor to engage.

kind of strange to get that operation engaged when at the same time you risk getting a ticket

My 2014 Cherokee latitude has shut of 3 times now while driving. I brought it to dealership they updated software and made a report to Chrysler. Since software update it has shut off again. There is a recall for this problem for grand Cherokee but not latitudes. I have two babies that were in the car. I know Chrysler is aware of my vehicle shutting off and they need to recall the latitudes too. Very disappointed in Chrysler.

Fresno ca 2014 jeep latitude

Transmission
My family And I we're driving to Yosemite on winding roads. 2014 latitude 4wd. We had pulled over to take pictures. It had been driving fine. Less than 500 miles. When we went to start it several warning lights and steering nor transmission would not work. Towed from yosemite ca to fresno ca. Lots of problems with road side assist due to our location and we're not able to bring all passenger down mountain. So we took a taxi for 90$ after we got a ride to oakhurst ca. It was a nightmare, jeep just told me it's the transmission and will take about a week to replace it. What are my options. What if we were on the winding road when it shut down. We were lucky.

I am so upset. My 2014 Lattitude transmission has shut down 3 times now while driving (always while driving on a major highway). I brought it to dealership they updated software twice. Since two different software updates it has shut off again and now I think they need to replace the transmission. My vehicle is not even a year old. I am frustrated that I have a brand new car and the time and inconvience I have spent trying to get this corrected is aggravating. I have had Jeep products for years and this is making me consider switching to a different brand of vehicle......

Jeep Lattitude 9 speed

I am now on my 3rd or 4th software update. The transmission continues to hold gears too long and never shifts to 9th if there is such a gear on this vehicle.

Hey mike321,
Are you the only driver in this vehicle? A unique characteristic about the 9 speed is its adaptive learning cycle. So if you have two different driving styles operating the vehicle, shifting may seem rough at first because it is adjusting to your driving style. By design, some vehicle and driveline combinations utilize 9th gear in very specific driving situations and conditions. Some vehicles may not, but only because using that gear would cause the combination of fuel economy and performance to be worse.

Hello Jeep/Andrea,
I'm very disappointed with Jeep/Chrysler. I have a 2015 Jeep Latitude, that has serious transmission problems. We decided to lease ( first time ever leasing a car) the Jeep because we trusted the Chrysler brand. We own a Chrysler 300 with a hemi engine, we that we love. The Jeep's transmission slips, hold gears too long, and hesitates when you are breaking! I do not have to tell you, this is a driving hazard. I use the Jeep to commute to Hoboken daily, with morning and evening traffic driving this vehicle has been very difficult. I was subject to two close accidents because a faulty transmission with a brand new car!!!! We had 3 software updates, no improvement, in fact its getting worse. My husband has spent countless hours at the dealer waiting for repairs and answers, no improvement. We were they today for yet another "NEW" software update, no improvement. ( I don't know how we received a "NEW" update we were just there 3 week ago??!!, I guess they drum up a "NEW" update every 3 weeks!) Please forgive my sarcasm, but it has been very frustrating and time consuming to get this resolved. We deserve a safe driving vehicle. We want Jeep/Chrysler to stand by their product, and make us once again satisfied customers. .....Thank you
