2000 tj rear Dana 44 axle noise

I'm currently stationed over seas so I would like to get an idea of what it might be before ripping into it and waisting time and money on shipping costs...

So I'll be drive down the street and everytime I turn left or right or any large bump in the road i can hear what sounds like a bit of play in my rear axle shafts. I pulled my tires and drums off and could physically push and pull them just ever so slightly. I don't know if a little bit of play is normal?... It's definately more noticeable with the tires on too. Any input will help
