2.8 to 3.4 swap? is it easy?

i have an 86 xj and the 2.8 in it has seen better days, i wanna put the super charged 3.4 in it, will it fit? and will i need to adapt anything? or is making it naturally aspirated going to fit better? help me out with any tip or comment, thanks, drew

It's been done, but I think you'll have a problem with any electronics the 3.4L has - you may need to end up using the fuel delivery system from the 2.8L. It's 90% a drop-in replacement otherwise. Follow the link for all the details.

The engine will fit fine, but you will prolly have to put a hood scoop or something, because I doubt the supercharger will clearence the hood. In my case the 4 barrel didn't fit with the airsleaner so i made a custom cowl induction hood.


And overall the motor swap is fairly painless
