1998 TJ with P0171 and P0463 engine codes

Check engine light came on and found the codes to be P0171 and P0463. The light came on while my power steering pump was leaking fluid (which has been replaced) and I'm wondering if these codes could be because something is dirty with fluid or debris. I get a little hesitation and a mild rough idle and I'm guessing a possible air flow issue. Any suggestions?

your power steering problem would not cause the check engine light to come on its more of an emissions based system. You have a bad sensor somewhere. I don't have a manual handy but look up the codes online or in a repair manual and go from there.

P0171 means you're running too lean or the ecu received data from the upstream O2 sensor indicating an abnormally rich correction.

Oops! didn't realize this was such an old thread!
