1998 2wd 2.5 swap to 4.0

i have been reading around that the 4.0 and 2.5 wiring harnesses are very similar which would require less wiring problems, But idk if this is true or not..

I have a 1998 Dodge dakota reg cab 2.5 and AX15 2wd, i would like to drop in a straight 6 4.0 into my chassis because the 2.5 isnt enough to pull a fully loaded truck to my liking

Wouldnt i need to get another 2wd 4.0 transmission due to the HP difference?

No, the AX15 you have would be fine with the 4.0L.

But you'll need a new bell housing to mate to the 4.0l. 1994 and later with external slave.
