1985 Jeep CJ7 6 Cylinder Original Carb Problem

Hello Guys, I have a 1985 all original CJ7 with the 258 6 cylinder . It ran well last week but today I tried to start it and it wouldn't crank up. It will run a few seconds if you pour a little gas into the top of the carb. It has the original electronic feedback carburetor.
Anyone know why this thing won't pump gas? Does the accelerator pump work off the electrical or is it manual. I am getting plenty of gas going into the carb. Is is just not pumping inside.
Any support would be appreciated. I know I can update to a better carb but I wanted to keep this car all original. it is in great shape. Thanks JDubyaM North GA

Carb Problems Resolved on 1985 CJ7 w/ Carter BBD

Hey Guys, I got it! It had gunk under needle. Took it apart, cleaned it. Also sprayed some "Deep Creep " product in the carb. It hasn't run this smooth in years! I want to thank each one of you for your input. Happy Camper here now!
