Mine was. 4" and 33's. My gearing was what made it possible as I had stock 2.73 with a very healthy v8. Now I have 4.10's and can only go 85-90 max.

Mines not lifted either. Even with 4.88's, I don't know that I'd want to see what top speed would be though.

Yeah I'm not lifted at all, if I was I would never try to go above 80.

In my 4.0 04 Wj with roof rack(spare inside), and 4 lights mounted on the roof rack, I can hit 125 down hill with a tail wind... Can easily cruise 90-100 comfortably (well, as comfortable as driving at 100 mph can be).
Back when I had no roof rack or anything I hit 130 and then I ran out of road....

On a side note...driving jeeps faster than 65 is about as smart as trying to drive a Camry through Rausch creek trails...

FALSE!! hehe 4.5in lift on 37s

not directed towards comptiger5000 but just saying that a properly set up suspension/steering system and balanced tires should allow a rig to drive very nicely at whatever speed you'd like. i can let go of my steering wheel on a washboard highway at 80mph and not worry about it swerving around

haha thanks. its an 87 yj wrangler on 33s. Just bought it, complete vac mess and crap carter carb but it made it to 72, and I have witnesses. This was when I was driving back from my first wheelin event, unknowingly leaked gas from my cracked tank 80 miles all the way home.

'78 CJ5 with 304 and 33" Mud Terrains...85MPH the engine was screaming and I swear I could see the fuel gauge dropping. One of those runs you need to peel your hands off the wheel and take a breather after. I wanted to see what she could do...probably had more in her but not interested in flying off the road anytime soon haha. It gets a bit squirrelly up there I found...

Why would you take out the spare?
