a friend and i raced once. apparently i got it up to 120.
but the speedo only goes up to 100.
but that is what my friends speedo said when we were neck and neck.
when i realized i was beat i just kinda eased off.
at about 85 i hit the tiniest crack in the freeway and well... you know what happens next
DEATH WOBBLE.
scary moment.
since then, i dont go past 80. :P

yeah. apparently 120 is the highest the 4.0L can go.

i was in fifth gear and red lining it.
thats how i knew i was beat.

I was going to cabelas in hamburg PA (about a 45 min drive if you go the seed limit) and maxed it out at 90 something with 30" tires! It was really funny to see the look on the black dodge Ram dually with dual stacks that was weaving back and forth through traffic when I passed him!!

Here in South Florida the speed limit for the I-95 is 65 mph . Everyone goes 75 mph . If i would want to pass someone in my XJ to get to the next lane i have to floor it , a few minutes later im at 80 mph and the car shakes so much i cant even read the guages lol . To give my car some credit it does need a new head gasket .

This is probably the main reason i wouldnt try speeding in a lifted jeep. It has never happened to me at that speed but i can imagine death wobble at 75+ could turn ugly really really fast. Like i posted ive done near 150 in my wrx and that was pretty intense with a car that was built to see abuse like that, but i've done 100-110 in my zj once or twice and that gets pretty squirrelly.

When I hit long interstate stretches, I cruise anywhere from 70-85mph. When I had my camaro I had it as far as the speedo would go which was 155. Couldnt imagine a Jeep doing that, but best of luck to whoever would want to try.

when i drove below 70 i could pull 18mpg out of the interstate

70 mph in the 4 banger. Kinda scary if you ask me. Over 130 mph in a different car though... I need to get my license soon.

I've gotten my TJ on 31's up to about 85 with no top or doors. Me and my friend were joking about how the Jeep felt like it was going to explode.
