My modification list is probably the shortest, but gave the biggest boost in performance:
  1. 4.6L stroker

its tough to top a stroker, but I'm curious to see if Bryson can actually do it
(for less money/ yielding more power/ keeping fuel economy close to stock)

I guess only time will tell.

Hey N20Jeep. I want to hear the FULL story. What ever happened to the "n20' Jeep? How many miles did it have when it existed. And did it ever blow up? Details. details details... I've always wanted to know..

Pretty much same as errvryones elses:
Cold air intake
relocated IAT
Had a TB spacer but I got rid of it
99 intake
APN header
deleted clutch fan and pulley for e-fan
bullet muffler
no cat
3.55 rears with AX15(5sp with auto gearing)
ADDCO sway bars front and rear
255/55/15 Pirelli Scorpion Zeros
cut front coils for ~1-1.5inch drop
sagging rear springs for same drop
My latest - run the trans low on fliud for 6000 miles.
My next - fix the transmission

Future:
4.6 stroker (currently in preliminary stages)
M90 SC (currently underneath my bed)
Better trans (to handle 300ish hp)
D44 rear axle

How do those 255's fit under there with the drop?

Get any time slips?

The last run I did successfully I didnt have some stuff - 99 intake, header, efan, relocated IAT, 3.55 gears, sways, front drop and the tires. I ran a 16.2 on 235 tires. I went having everything recently, but spun the driveshaft out. I had to be towed off the track - talk about embarressing. The tires fit under there nicely, there a smidge shorter than 235/75/15. The 235 are about 28.8 inches tall, the 255 are 26. I would like to think I could manage a 15.7-8 with it. But now with the trans issues and the engine being rebuilt as a stroker and possibly blown, cant know for sure. I want so badly to be done so I can do the fastest MJ/XJ thing

sure....
right now the "N20Jeep" is probably sitting in a 3x3 foot cube of post-crusher metal, after having probably being completely stripped out at the junkyard....

when it was running it had somewhere between 210,000 and 230,000 on the original motor/tranny....(Renix Powa)

and yea, it definately blew up....while on the way back from the local 1/8th mile track, me and some buddies were playing around on the highway. and after a quick little 40-90somethin race , i recieved a phone call from one of my buddies driving behind me telling me there was a smokestorm coming from under my jeep...

there are alot of things i shoulda/coulda done differently on that setup, that im going to be doing on my next 4.0 build....

anything else ?

i do have a question for ya...

do you think that the drivetrain handled the extra power fine? or would you have done something different with that as well? because in the near future, as soon as our shop is done, i am going to build a stroker, nothing extremely insane as far as power goes, i want to have the same reliability as the 4.0L, but i would like the extra power, more torque mainly. So, do you think that the 8.25 would take the power from a stroker, and the AX-15...i know you just had urs on the bottle, but im guessing a moderately built stroker would be somewhere close to that, hopefully...

thanks

ok, ima be honest with you....the only reason i think that my D35/ AX15 combo survived was because the jeep could never catch good traction below 30mph....had the jeep hooked, im sure that something wouldve gave, the clucth was already showing signs of slipping durring the higher mph runs....

the 8.25 and AX-15 should last a while, aslong as your not constantly beating it from a stop....

and i would really say i "just" had mine on bottle ....the power/torque of the shot i ran woulnt have more than likely put most of the stroker kits that i know of to shame....and ive riden in a few different stroker XJ's...and the pull was just not the same

Exactly what I'm afraid of if I get some decently sticky tires under my comanche. The D35 just won't hold up. Hell I'm afraid to even torque launch (AW-4) it with my 235/70/15's. Pretty much why I stopped running this combo hard, for now at least.

Oh how nice a built D44 would be....
