EDIT: I should also mention that those fogs do not include a xenon system... you have to buy your own, and only an H3C HID bulb will fit these projectors (good H3C kits are very hard to find -- that's why I was forced to wait for my buddy to get my kit) In other words, there are much better AND more cost effective ways to equip your XJ with HIDs. One good option is a sylvania X1010 and/ or X6054 kit (Again, I already mentioned this stuff earlier in the post). Also to answer the part of the post you deleted... these foglights are aftermarket. . Last edited by urban-yan; 08-06-2007 at 12:53 PM. Reason: Added Extra Info |

AHHH GOTCHA. you had me confused because I thought you were asking about my foglight retro.
it's tough to do a DIY projector retro into our stock headlights because they're limited by space. You might be able to pull it off if you used Hella 90mm Bi-Xenon projectors, but they're EXTREMELY expensive ($540usd each), and you would still need a decent set of headlights, and some serious skill to retrofit them properly. In the end, you would have a very expensive set of headlights that isn't street legal (with no guarantee you aligned them properly). in other words, it would be cheaper just to buy what I'm using from suvlights.com (although you can find a better description on my headlights at spitzkraft.com -- btw, that's the price for one headlight) There are other solutions available (sylvania products, H4 HID shields, etc...), but I already mentioned them in this thread. . |

Your 89 240sx used the exact same 6054 headlights found in our Cherokees. If you had HIDs in that nissan, it was easy to move them over (or replicate the set-up) to your Jeep. In other words, why don't you do what I mentioned on the first page:

OK BACK TO TOPIC I finally got a hold of my buddy yesterday. The H3C HID kits arrived at his place yesterday, and he had them shipped today. It shouldn't be long before I can wrap up this project and post some tasty pics. . |

well it's time to resurrect this thread with a crummy night time teaser
I had a few issues. first one of my H3C bulbs blew up in my projector. Second, the replacement bulb from my other H3C kit was a different kelvin despite the fact I bought two 5000k kits. I'll have to get these problems sorted this week, and try to get some REAL pics lol ![]() |

Nope, Just clear lenses with some chromed amber 3157 bulbs.
The cheap ones (off ebay) are just as good as the more expensive Solaris bulbs . |

personally i prefer the "chrome dome" ones. thats what i'm currently running in my oem housings up front... and will probably also do in my rears if i order the red/clear.
(although... dont ask what i'm really tempted to do... actually, you already know)

The major problem with those bulbs is that they don't get rid of the egg-yolk effect when the lights are off. Quote:
I've got something up my sleeve with my signal markers as well. Lets just say I sent my friend a fresh set of cherokee signal markers, a lighting harness, the following photo and told him to get to work (but that's a topic for a different thread) ![]() Last edited by urban-yan; 11-11-2007 at 09:31 PM. |

Ok, here are two more pics... I'll take some better night time pics when I change out my
passenger-side H3C bulb, and figure out how to take some decent pics without catching too much glare. ![]() ![]() |
