Who would want a jeep XJ for the street?
Cherokees are meant for trails and rock crawling!!!
I have been browsing this sub-forum for a couple of hours and I love it. I'm a hot rodder at a heart. Bigger, better, faster. My XJ has remained stock all these years because I love the way it drives. Hugging through the corners in the sierras in the XJ has taught me that that there is more to an XJ than a killer 4x4 SUV. limited body roll and flat cornering and fast too. It truly is a great road car. But you guys know that.
Damm, I'm an off-roader at heart, is this like a 12 step program?
Mine even came with Eagle GTs, which quickly went away at first snow for ATs.
But they were fun on Hwy 89, Luther, monitor, Kingsbury and the rest.
I think it is great to break away from the pack and do what makes sense.
Too bad the SCCA doesn't have an XJ class. OH MY. The planets would slip out of alignment!!!
that being said my 91 limited is getting a golen, 3.5 lift and 31x10.50 treatment so I can play on the fire roads. But who knows what the next one will be!!
You free thinkers are the devil!!!
(by the way.thats my intro, request permission to come aboard)

Street XJs can be fun! There are a few of us that rarely take our jeeps offroad and tend to focus onroad. I myself come from a backround that includes merkurs, alfas, vws and mustangs, so I like to go fast.

i started into jeeps w/ a xj, lifted it, locked it, beat it, rolled it, and finally junked it.
got this one, started building it for the street because everyone said it couldnt be done. while i was building this one, i bought another one, threw it on some 32's, wheeled it, eventually the motor blew on the way to work. thursday im picking up an xj waggy..... prolly just leave her stock for me and the girl if it ever snows

see your problem isn't your age.. it's the company allstate is one of the most expensive. look into progressive, geico or esurance. all their websites will give you price quotes.

I have esurance, $500 deductible, $1000 aftermarket stuff coverage, and it only costs me $600 every 6 months.

well my parents have been using them for atleast 19 years and i guess they want to stay with them, also the $1100 every 6 months is not the bare minimum...it covers everything, for the bare minimun it is still ~$900 every 6 months
