I smoked up an X5 4.4 with my 6.0 2500HD a few years back to 98 when my rev limiter kicked in. I've lost to a 5.9 GC limited so i can only imagine what an SRT8 would do. I say SRT8 hands down.

that "POS" deserves that title, jeep grand cherokee is cheaper, with the extra money it could kill the x5

The X5M Might have it on paper, but it's so freaking ugly. The SRT8 has been my favorite SUV, just from a stance to overall aggressive look for years. Even if the X5M won, it still looks god awful.

my favorite GC Launch to date...
YouTube - Drag Strip Run Jeep 5.9

looks like he has tweaked it more...

I wish I could find a better video, but I remember catching this on speed a few months back during some weekend marathon.

they both are great vehicles.
but if i wanted more speed on the road i would definitely go with srt8 over x5.
i think srt8 can be alot more agressive than x5.
but then again. if i wanted luxury then i would go for x5

what he said. I can confirm that (except for the M version) the SRT will not have a problem with any of the X5 or X6 BMWs. I have them try all the time. I have not run up against an M version, but I wouldn't waste the 4 gallons of gas it would take to find out what I already know.

The first 1/8, esp. the launch, is great with the GC-SRT8. It is the most "idiot" proof vehicle to launch with; dry, wet or snow (turn off 90% TC). I have enjoyed mine. They surprise many folks who think it is just a soceer-mom SUV with shiny wheels!

Have fun.

I own a 06 SRT-8 and haven't lost to any BMW X5's so far. Either across the intersection or streatched out quite a distance. Mine is stock with just a K&N.
