My friend has those headlights. I would avoid them. With those little parking light bulbs they don't even fit in an XJ, it hits the headlight bucket.
Go for the Autopal headlights (on eBay) instead. You can get the Diamond Autopal ones if you want them to look cooler.

I will definitely not have use for the light so I will have to dremel that down, but the whole reason I wanted to go with the above shown housing was because they were projectors not reflectors.

Yeah but they're not really projectors, they just call them that. Real projectors cost like >$500. They just look like projectors with that thing in the middle but they're really reflectors, so you might as well get some good reflector lights. Did you check out the Diamond Autopal ones? You'll probably like the way they look. I can find a link for you if you can't find them.

I get banned for a month and everyone forgets about my HID setup lol. First and foremost, cheap aftermarket ebay HID kits are TRASH. The bulbs explode, engine bays catch fire, ballasts soak up water and short circuit, etc... etc... etc... There's a reason those kits cost so little. Go on ebay, spend $150 on a genuine German-made oem take-off D1S kit, purchase an H4 adapter, and call it a day.
Second, those headlights you mentioned ARE NOT real projectors. They're essentially a cheap reflector with a glass lense. They don't project any light.. only allow a little extra light to seep through the glass lense. Do yourself a favor, and buy yourself a set of 200mm (ie 6054) sealed beams from autopal... they made well, they're affordable, and they'll work well with that oem take-off kit/ H4 adapter I mentioned.
Now as far as HID kits in XJs go, here's mine. I'm using REAL bi-xenon projectors with a 5400k HID kit courtesy a Cadillac SRX. I'm also running a German-import projector foglight kit with a 5000k H3C HID kit.

Those are mighty ugly but I bet they sure perform. I think I'll just get the Autopals witht he brighter bulbs instead. All this HID talk is getting me worried.

Do yourself and every other driver a failure. Do a HID retrofit with real HID assemblies, like what Urban is saying. No matter how far you point the H4 halogen assemblies down there will still be glare blinding other drivers. Even in a good H4 assembly this will happen even worse in those crappy fakejectors.

ugly? well that's open to debate. I've been using these lights for 3 years,
and I love them.

Look man, I'm not trying to scare you away from HIDS. I'm just trying
to warn you about the pitfalls of aftermarket kits. I have 2 buddies that
retrofit projectors into headlights, and they use OEM parts exclusively.
Provided you're willing to lose your high beam, you can have a REALLY
nice HID set-up. Here's what you need:
01) Some Decent 6054/200mm headlights. Autopal's are a great value.
Hella HB2's are fantastic if you have the extra loot. You can also look
into sealed beam headlights from IPF or Cibie. If the headlights have
fake projectors, a daytime running light or a black-out effect they're
pure trash.
02) an OEM/take-out HID Kit (ballasts/ D2S or D2R bulbs). Top brands
include: Hella, Philips (see them often in German Cars), Denso (Lexus),
Matsush*ta/Panasonic (Nissan/Infiniti - I have them in my WJ) & Bosch
(Cadillac - I have them in my XJ). If you're patient, you'll find a kit on
ebay for $150-$250. I paid $150 for brand new take-outs courtesy a
Cadillac SRX.
03) Now that you have a decent set of headlights and an oem HID kit
you'll need something to put the two pieces together. An H4 adapter will
secure your D2S/D2R in your headlights and it's shield will produce a good
light cut-off that will block glare. They're under 30 bucks and they look
like this:

oh, and if you want to stick with halogens, here's a great thread on an autopal install
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/autopal-h4-conversion-install-400577/
you can always start with the autopals, and look into an HID upgrade later if you decide you want more light output.

On the topic of adaptor/shields...
You know where I can find the correct adaptor/shield assembly for a 9006 housing?

I heard of "rebased 9006" capsules (genuine philips/hella stuff), but I never saw
them with a sheild. Most people do the projector retrofit and call it a day.
I take it you're asking for an HID solution for your WJ? I had my friend retrofit
low beam 350z Projectors into my WJ. Another buddy of mine got jealous and did
one better by getting FX35 bi-xenon projectors done in his WJ. I think he sold his
Jeep and the projectors are for sale on ebay now ( Item number: 180218396552)
and here's the link to both WJ retros

if i had the money, i'd jump all over that like me with pie.
but, since everything i got back from uncle sam is going towards down payment/tax/title/liscense/getting it home/ etc on the wj... dang.

I know man... I just found out about his auction yesterday. His set-up is much better than mine.
350Z projectors are not the best choice for an HID retro. Those FX projectors are the way to go.
