So I'm into fast vehicles as well. I have a '92 Dodge Dakota that ran a 12.7@108 with a 150 shot and BFG Drag Radials.. It ran a 14.2 and constant 14.0-14.4 all motor with street tires...

Anyway, I came over to the Jeep world from the racing world. I'm still a "member" of both as I am trading the Dakota for a third gen Trans-Am. Here's my question...

I always want more power with my Heep. What do YOU suggest? "Performance" specs so far are:

'93 4.0L, RE 62mm TB, 62mm TB spacer, Snorkel (acts like somewhat CAI/ram air), Dynomax Super Turbo cat back, 185* t-stat, 3.55 gears (I want 4.56's.. but not in the budget at the moment), Centerforce Stage II clutch, NV3550. That's basically it. I want some inexpensive mods that you guys recommend. I am not trying to make this into a race Jeep, just want some more power out of it. I know a header would be nice, but again, not in the budget... Opinions are welcomed. Thanks!

doing all the intake mods are near useless if youre keeping the stock manifold.

summit has the pacesetter header, y pipe, crossover pipe and precat pipe for like $215, and its a great upgrade compared to stock

then youll need a map adjuster to richen the motor back to where it should be

Do you happen to have a part # on that Pacesetter kit? We're a Pacesetter dealer so I can most likely get it cheaper than retail. We also sell adjustable MAP sensors as well for $109.99 retail

Wow, I have a kick *** price for that Pacesetter setup. So I've done engine swaps, trans swaps, t-case swaps, axle swaps, etc... but never really done a header on a Cherokee. What's required of me? Do I need to pull the engine or can I do the swap in the engine bay? I know it'll obviously be EASIER if it's pulled, but is it real hard to do inside the engine bay?

you can do the swap in the engine bay within a few hours if you've never done it before....with basic hand tools
