You guys need a stroker! I have stayed right next to a 350Z all the way to the top of 3rd gear, or until about 85 mph.

woah....

hold on a sec man.

third gear is a dog? in my XJ, i do pretty decent off the line, even with 31's, and then 2nd gear is pretty good, i can take it all the way up to 60-65...i usually shift at around 60 mph(i dont have a tach). then, when i get into 3rd gear, well....i think that is my power gear.....in 3rd gear i can start out at like 35-40 mph, and take it all the way up to 100 mph....and it does it pretty quick too.

Two things- tires and gears. I have 28s with 3.55s. Im shifting into 3rd at 55ish (I do have a tach) Your taller tires are enabling you to have a higher top end, as well as the 3.07s. My first gear is over too quickly, 2nd is where mine hauls the most. As soon as I shift into third it seems like theres nothing there unless Im doing around 75. I have to shift out of 3rd by about 82 or something like that. It used to be 88-90 with the 3.07 gears. I would imagine your able to get to 100 by having 3" taller tires. Ive also noticed that when I shift to 4th it has about the same rate of acceleration as 3rd. Maybe thats just my perception, but Ill usually purposefully end races around the 2-3 shift unless they have a really slow car.

That or Im a complete r tard and have been driving it incorrectly for 6 years. In which case I better figure something out.

well man, all i have to say is that you would own me off the line...haha

and i can get to the speed limiter no problem in 4th....it takes a little longer than getting to 100 tho...but, thats because of the great aerodynamics

Running 235/70/15's...My jeep hauls majorly on the lowend off the line. Minus roasting the tires (i need stickies, but i'm afraid the D35 will snap like a toothpick)

Anyways, after about 65, the Renix motor just has no more pep. Of course I am stock for now as well.

Running the slightly lower tires definitely helps a ton off the line though.

I'm running 225/70/15's, and I love launchng off the line. Now if I could just find some more traction...

Yea, you probably have more traction issues then me with that stroker.

I'm running a stock 2wd 88' renix 4.0 comanche, but the thing is, I've got no traction due to the light back end of the comanche, and the lowend torque from the renix. Besides, it's pretty barebone itself, i'd be surprised if it weighed in over 3,000lbs w/o me in it.
