Overheating while running A/C

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee that has an inline 6 with a mechanical fan bolted to the crank. This causes it to overheat during the summer when it has to idle for an extended period. I want to either add an auxiliary electric fan to it, or if I have to, remove the mechanical fan and go all electric. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with an aftermarket kit for doing this?
