do you plan on putting the grill back on? i think it looks pretty cool,
i think you should put some flat fenders on it and change your body color to match the rest of the sceme, something like black or a sliver/gray type color would look sweet

Thanks. Yes the grille should be back on tomorrow. As far as paint I'm not sure if I'll do it this year or wait until next winter. I might consider flat fenders if I can buy a set cheap enough. I'm not going to pay more for flat fenders then a set of stock fenders.

awe man, that thing is outstanding! beautiful looking build! did you use a DJ5 front solid axle? I agree flat fenders would be a nice touch, it would give it a little more nostalgia, not to mention a more custom "street" look, rather than a dropped stock looking 4x4.

Yes I used a solid axle front end out of a DJ-5. If I can find a set of decent actual flat fenders instead of tube ones I might go that route in the future. For this summer at least I'll end up running it open wheel. Tomorrow morning I'll be running transmission lines and filling fluids so It should be able to be hot wired and ran for the first time. Then continue to tinker. I'm hoping it will be road worthy in another month.

Thanks LOL. The Gremlin is staying stock. Maybe a set of rims and tires after this project is done. It's a 78 Base Gremlin with the Audi 4 Cyl. and 48K original miles.

Yes carbs and open headers are yummy. It will have a set of purple hornies on it soon. But my projector H-4 headlights came in today and I started the install. Got my headlight bezels and retainer rings painted flat black. One side is done. Just have to cut the wires for the marker lights and connect them to the indicator light in the headlight. I'm hoping this works for turn signals and I won't have to run the two lower turn signals.
