this engine is a stocker out of a 74 malibu and only used to set up and finish building it runs good but not the drag motor. there is still alot to do this jeep before it goes to the track. future plans are, 4.56 gears full spool w/35 spline strange axles, aluminum 3rd member, cheetah shifter, and several other items too many to list but will post pic with detail as i go. last will be the engine, an all aluminum block, heads, rods, and intake(to reduce weight) 427ci race engine will be built for this jeep. this pic here is how i had to move the steering gear box up on the frame to make room for the radiator so i could get full cooling capacity.

well a set of corvette long tube headders is used and has an almost perfect fit, i said almost! the frame is pushed out to make it fit. looks good to. short headders just dont make good power.

as you can see the steering gearbox was moved up to make room for the headers, motor plate, and radiator. the shaft was extended and a small notch cut in the frame and welded back up. custom steering linkages were made w/chromemoly steel tube and spherical rod ends.

well your taking the innovative way that most owners might follow, im taking what looks to be the cheap way but in reality this aluminun 427 will set me back 15g's unless i find a complete used engine but it would have to be a real deal. twin turbos is an option but ill most likely go with nitrous. i have a 96 grand cherokee that the turbo would look good on so do a good job and work out all the bugs for us.
