Personally i would have went with a BB and some Moabs on some decent AT's. That looks hideous because a.) 22's are too big for an XJ and b.) white is hideous IMO. It would have looked better with some silver wheels as opposed to chrome.
97 XJ 4.0 AW4 NP231: BB, 31's CB, Surco Rack, , Autopals, Scangauge II, JCR tail light housings, basically Looks like JCR puked on it and some sweet hood pins! :D
I like. I am looking to do a similar mod to my new Jeep 2010 Jeep Patriot. Just goes to show that not all Jeeps have to be tricked out for off road!
but you have a patriot i.e. dodge caliber.... it's a car, not a jeep

I have 22's on my Magnum and 15's with 32" rubber on my Jeep...those 22's are WAY heavier than my Jeep wheels. My Magnum weighs 4100lbs and has way bigger brakes than the Jeep. Those wheels WILL eat your brakes amongst other things. IMO they look terrible....but....its your Jeep!
Watch for potholes cause the 22's don't like em!
This is the great thing about our sport, I have a grand cherokee limited that has never been off road, I also have 4 wrangler that only see pavement to get to the trails. Good luck with your rig, but I think the other members are right bigger brakes would be a better way to go!
