I believe those rims are heavier than 35's and below.. thats why everyone is saying upgrade the brakes. And I believe a good percentage of off-roaders DO upgrade their brakes btw.
And for who ever said, if you have 'fatter' people in the vehicle do you have to upgrade the brakes?... umm..if theres more weight in the car, garantee your going to be going through more brakes.
anyway, thought id check out this forum to see whats going on and stumbled upon this thread.. dont know what 'street jeeps' are like, but thats definitely a jeep for the street! so your right on topic sir.

What do I think? I think its only for looks and doesnt do anything positive for the vehicle or its use. From there I could only assume it was done to be unique, but then again, how many vehicles have hotwheels-proportion size wheels on these days? Again, since you asked, "What do you think?" I think its useless and just another boring (not that huge wheels would ever be exciting for me) daily driver with huge wheels. I think it would suck if you got a flat or hit a pothole that looked more shallow that it is. Its your vehicle, I think you should do what you want.

You know whats funny....you dont need to upgrade your brakes until you get up to 35 inch tires...its funny cuz you're wrong
dub 2's are not meant to be put on a 4x4 XJ. 2wd maybe, but if it is what you like man stay with it.

well, what i think: it defeats the Jeep ideology
..it looks pretty good considering that i dont usually go for street cars/trucks unless they're much older models
all in all, i regret scrolling all the way down the page and clicking this section

it's not my thing. but do what makes you happy.
( if i was going to do a street jeep i would find a black or white cherokee, and put black crome 16's on it, not too big but different than stock.)

Are you a pimp? Do you have pink shag carpet on the ceiling? I don't like it. Sorry that is not what you are wanting to read. Not in to the ghetto wheels. Looked better with the stock rims/tires. You messed it up.

You asked for it, right?
It´s not my cup of tea, I would have bought some nice 18" wheels, 22" is a bit much, I think.

I think 18" is the absolute largest I would go. If I had found a comparable 17" setup for the same money, I might have gone with them instead. But, it's yours, and if you like it, that's what matters. It is definitely a little different look, which is what I was going for as well. I also opted for usual tuneup, bolt ons, and replacing the suspension before the aesthetic side of things, but that's just me and my budget.
