CJ5 steering problem!!
Hi I've got a bit of a problem I have a 1982 CJ5 jeep when I got the jeep it was all bone stock original. Well that meant that the leaf springs were mounted under the axles. Well I decided to put some 33' Super Swampers on it so to do that I had to lift it well I did the easiest lift I could so I took the leaf springs and mounted them on top of the axles and made new shackles for it. Well in the process I had to get rid of the shock obsorber and the sway bar so I got rid of them because it wouldn't fit anymore. Well I got the lift and the tires on and it looks really good and then I went I the test drive well everything was perfectly fine EXECPT FOR THE STEERING!! It felt like the axle was going all over the road. The slightest adjustment of steering and it'll throw into the ditch which is extremely dangerous. So I need help I need to know what I can do to fix this. Should I buy a new shock obsorber to fit or make a custom sway bar or what? I have no clue what it could be I just need help. 😞
