Canadian 98 ZJ 4.0 restoration/upgrade/making it my own

Recently purchased a completely stock, most likely completely original (from what I can tell) '98 ZJ Laredo with 169k on the clock for $500 as a 4x4 winter beater. It has since become my DD and I'm completely in love with it. Now that I've had some time with her and finished all the basics like oil change and tune up, I'm ready to start going through the suspension, drivetrain, etc to restore and upgrade everything to make it what I want and I'm looking for any suggestions about what you all have done that worked, didn't work, wish you had or hadn't done or just opinions. I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but as a pretty much purely road only ZJ this seemed like the right place to start.

**EDIT-good lord I didn't realize this thread was from last year.**

Nice ZJ! My dd is a twin to yours, but a '96 with double the mileage. If you have a pick-n-pull near scavenge every part that needs replaced. It's much cheaper than e-bay.

Hahaha no worries man. Thank you by the way, this was my dd but starting a new job that's around 80 hours a week shortly after buying her put a damper on any plans I had unfortunately. I took her off the road and she is now officially my project. Within a month or so I hope to have started tearing down the suspension and hopefully drive train so I can get things moving along.
