I have a Black 99 Cherokee Sport that I Just bought and am blacking out. Does anyone know of any website where i can buy black or smoked covers to replace the orange ones? Also, I want to change the origonal white headlights. Does anyone know of there are any after market headlights that have halo or something different. Or even smoked film kits will work for now. Also, if you have a blacked out Xj let me know, id like the cheek it out.
The best way and cost effective way is to buy a can of VHT NightShade sold normal at pepboys or were ever. Looks great and easy to do heres a short write up on it.
1. Unscrew your tail lights using a 10mm? socket wrench.
2. after unscrewing the 3 bolts holding the lights in, untwist the lights and pull the out from the taillight housing.
3. After removing the taillights, clean the surface of them buy using windex, rubbing alcohol, what ever works.
4.Once done that lots of write up says wet sand them, spray paint, then wet sand.... Blahhh... Just Clean them and then make sure they are fully dry.
5.Spray the tail lights with light coat to fully cover the lens.
6. allow that to dry for a little bit about 10mins or so then add another coat.
7. keep doing this until you get the look you want. (after about 6-7 coats lights actualy become hard to see, only a couple coats works good.)
8. After you do all the coats you want let it dry completely then remount them to your Jeep and your ready to rock
Heres some pics of my Jeep with them, looks pretty good on red. I did the sidemarkers too just dont got a picture of em. if you want i can take some pics of them, and also pics of the brakes on so you can see the light shining thro it works great cant even tell they are tinted when brakes or directionals go on. I taped of the white back up lights to give it a different look but you can tint those and it still works good, did this to my sisters car and hers is a dark purple looks great.
nightshades is just like candy paint. its pretty much just tinted clear so as long as you only throw a couple of coats on your lenses then they'll still look good. ebay also has the complete front kits for around $50
Yea it does I did my directionals too i just dont got a picture of them, you can also do your headlights too, with the headlights, gotta do real light coats to start off with tho the paint doesnt really like to stick to the glass. but using VHT nightshade is prob your best bet if u wanna black out, its cheap dont gonna replace anything and it looks good.
hit it with a hammer

I want to get clear lenses and smoke them. I know a vinyl shop that does a great job, but they're a little pricey. I 'd like to do it myself, but I don't know what tint/vinyl to buy or how to apply it without it peeling up at the edges.
