96 coolant leak

I just bought a 1996 Grand Cherokee Laredo a few weeks ago from a guy on CL. He seemed to he pretty knowledgeable and was upfront about the issues with the jeep. And he told me this forum to use for problems. Anyways, I just noticed yesterday that there is a coolant leak. I live and Maryland and was in NC when I noticed it. I drove all the way back and the temp stayed in normal range. When I got home I was able to look at the level. It was at the fill line so I added coolant to it. I noticed the lines under the engine were soaked. I'm new to jeeps and mechanical issues since this is my first used car. Any ideas of what it could be? I know it needs to be addressed pretty quickly. How much would it normally be to take to a mechanic to look at and possibly fix depending on the issue? Any help would be great
