Helped my buddy take his axles to a guy to get gears/lockers installed. Don't know anyone with a pickup, so this was the next best thing :

Also the rear was still leaking just a bit of fluid from one of the plugs, so i threw a bit more weld in there and topped off the fluid level.

Been a while. Holidays kept me busy, and i picked up a new toy I've been concentrating on

1962, fairly rust free. We're going to take this down to the pans, and do a full resto-mod. Long term project, but I've been trying to get it road worthy to cruise

But I'm picking up some plate steel today to construct a front bumper, so some updates will be coming soon. I want to get that winch mounted!

Got some work done on it the other night... Started with making the frame tie-ins, and the beginnings of the winch box. I'll be working more on it tonight:

More work on the front bumper build.

Not a pro, but was pretty proud of this :

The idea was to get the winch sucked up as tight as possible against the body, and as high as possible to maximize ground clearance. It now sits tightly under the grill and only about 1" away from the core support. I'm pretty happy with how things are turning out so far...

I'll be getting the rest of the winch box area finished up, and start working on the "wings" that extend out and back.

Also found where my steering slop was...The bolt that goes through my knuckle on the passenger side had somehow become a little loose, and was wobbling around when you turned, causing all sorts of crazy feeling slop. I added a lock washer and tightened it down...it's SO much better now.

Cardboard is your friend with a plate bumper :

To this:

So I've got to take it off and do finishing welding, and add some gusseting underneath in a couple of areas. I'm really pleased with how this came out. Might move onto a back bumper next

Thank you

Got about 95% of the gusseting done, and all the finish welding. Too tired to get pics up, but soon. Plan on grinding it all down and painting it this weekend. Pics to follow
