I have a non turbo so its a little different. I had the luck of blowing up a auto trans but it happened at 156xxx and doin 80. Not the best idea. I got another from ford but having electrical issues this past summer so im going to a zf5 manual. My friends had no issues with the auto trans though so I wouldn't be worried. Towing is great just don't think its a race horse, but it will pull anything. Just check the oil for any coolant as some 7.3 idi get cavatation in the cylinder walls and leak coolant. Ask if hes had the injection pump rebuilt or replaced as they should be around 150xxx. Other than that just treat it good and it will last long. Ask if the glow plugs still work and make sure the guy wasnt spraying it with to much ether to start it.
