...when no clothes stay "nice"
...when you hate it but always fix it
...when you watch the temp gauge during the summer like a hawk
...when it rains the inside usually gets a bath too
...when one small bolt turns into a 2 day project

when you need to go to the junkyard for parts but are afraid to drive the XJ for fear that someone might mistake it for junk and start taking stuff off.

No joke, I broke down about 2 miles from the salvage yard. So walked there and back, and got my part, headed back. Was putting it on and a truck stopped and asked if I needed him to pull me to the junkyard.

Needless to say, I wasn't happy.

When your junkyard front door has window tint but the factory passenger side door does not.

It is now the only window on the jeep with a window you can see through.

When you've been going junkyard to junkyard for 6 hours and the next person to ask "Grand Cherokee or just the regular?" is likely to get a shop hammer to the ball joints.

Even when you assume they're stupid and say "regular Cherokee, the old style, not the Grand." They still ask. At this point I use the lifted eyebrow and the "man, you're stupid" stare.

I usually say "The smaller boxy one", and unfortunately I've never been able to get just one eyebrow up. I think I've got the rest of the stare down pat at this point. Drives me nuts. Even after that sort of thing on the phone, and confirming multiple times, I've ended up driving 90 miles for a rare part only to find myself staring at a ZJ in their yard.

I actually got into a 10 minute debate with a guy on the phone once who was convinced he had a factory V8 Cherokee. I could not convince him that he either actually had a modified Cherokee with a V8 or (much more likely) he had a Grand Cherokee. I finally realized I was talking to a brick wall and haven't been to that yard since.

It drives me BSC when people say, "Oh, you have a 2dr and a 4dr of the same Jeep."
