When you see a friend you havent seen in a year and a half, and his first question is, is that still the originial trans? (AW4) you say yes and he asks, "how?!". Then procedes to say any other trans would have exploded from the the hell you put it through.

Any of you who have ever had the exprence to wheel with me would know how hard i am on my jeep.

It's "cuz" people don't do required maintence on their automatic transmission. Change the fluid and filter when your owner's manual says to, and your transmission will offer you a long life or trouble free service.

Exactly my point, people don't/haven't taken care of them, lots of them, and there aren't any new XJ's coming along. But u can get in any manual, and as long as the clutch isn't gone, it's a 99% chance that it'll work fine.

When you hear a noise coming from the car next to you and assume that its coming from yours. Then take a sigh of relief when you pull it away and realize it wasn't.

Ok I get that then. It was different an other vehicles I've driven that's for sure. It was also a lot different than my firebird cause whenever you have it out of gear it idles so low it just cuts off, so when I drove the jeep I kept keeping my foot on the gas. Haha

I'm not saying we should kill stupid people... Just get rid of all the warning labels...
If you find my comments to "infer" something, they don't. Go to hell.

This...I was at a stop light the other day and heard ticking...The last time I heard that noise, a ford barfed a motor...I was about to freak, until the mini-van next to me pulled away and the noise went with it. I breathed a sigh of relief and went on down the road (It was a Windstar, if you're curious).

YKYDAXJW Your passengers bump their head the first few times they get in it. (not sure if it's been mentioned)

Haha I used to smack my head on mine all the time and I'm only 5'10. Lifting it 2" has been perfect. Haven't hit my head since.

You all just need to watch where your heads are going. I'm 6'5" and I've never hit my head getting into mine and it's only lifted about 2.5".

I bet you all don't trip over or stub your toes on near as much stuff as I do though.

You Know you drive an XJ when..

A cigarette butt falls out of the ashtray by your shifter.. and lands on the ground underneath.
