Well, I have not finished my lift ( I have the 3" springs on, but the 1-1/2 from spacers/shackles is still on the bench). But I couldn't wait any longer a few weeks ago and I took my rig on a trail ride with a local club with 33" tires on only 3" of lift. I kept the sways connected, and bypassed most of the tough stuff, but at least I got out in the sunlight

Here's me waiting for the line to move.

And here are a few others: I actually did hit SOME of the rocks, I just didn't have a photographer with me and these were the only shots anybody got of me.

With the 33x9.5 BFG AT-KO's on stock rims I can turn lock to lock and not rub. (Now there's Less Than 1/8" between the rubber and the LCA, but there IS daylight between them.)

With skipping the bigger stuff and being carefull, I only rubbed a few times while pointing down hill, and turning at the same time. I rubbed in the center of the rear of the front inner fender.

I bought adjustable front spacers, and 1.5" lift schackles. So the front will be fine either way; I just hope I don't need any more in the back to clear the rubber once I start really flexxing.

- Can't wait for the rest of the lift; weather and work schedule permitting, that will happen tomorrow

.

Don't mind me... I'm just the comic-relief, talking bear.

Not available as DOT- approved street tyre in USA. They are Fedima Sirocco 31" x 10.50" x 15" (made in Portugal). Didn't even lower tire pressure the last time I was driving, still gripped amazingly well. You can see in some pics that airing down would've helped, but there was no real need for that..

Had a blast today.. it was great weather, warm and dry. Hasn't really been raining for almost three months now (just a few good showers, that's it). Pretty unusual here in Finland.

Due to the weather - which surely has been great in my opinion - this nice little playground was almost completely dry, only a couple places where you could find some soft wet mud. Of course had to try 'em - and got stuck in all of 'em like everyone else

But that's the spirit of the sport, huh

Again, sorry for 56k and other not-so-broadband users (1024 x 768, ~200k per pic)

continued on next post..

Ok, I really am stuck here. This was purely my driving error.. I would've had good grip under right side tyres, but didn't turn as sharply to the right after a rock as I should've.

Front slipped to a 2' deep almost dried- up mudhole (I was already at a nice sideways angle). Felt quite tippy, wasn't too far from rolling when I hit the bottom. Doesn't look that bad in the pics though..

This guy driving the xj was running 33" SuperSwamprers witth no lift and no front & rear swaybars. Some trimming on f&r fenders. He was rubbing every now and then, but not that much really. He was doing really well with that setup. Talk about low COG..:

Someone else had a bit of a grip problems too..:
