ok so when i start my xj theirs no ticking runs great but after it warms up it starts to tick im guessing its a warn lifter?

Warn makes winches, not lifters

If you think the lifters are worn out.. have you used a mechanics stethoscope to pinpoint the noise? What year is the XJ?

Could be the exhaust gas recirculation valve? or whatever it's called. It's mounted on the firewall right side.

Sorry, it's not the EGR valve, but the EVAP purge solenoid on the firewall. That could be the ticking.
